Recipe: Basic Chocolate Sponge
Basic Chocolate Sponge Cake
4 eggs120g castor sugar
Sift
120g plain flour
1 1/2 tbsp cocoa powder
Pinch of salt
Method:
Preheat oven to 170° C. Grease, flour and line a 20cm round cake tin.
Whisk eggs and sugar until mixture is thick. Fold in flour in batches with a spatula. Pour batter into the prepared tin. Bake in preheated oven for about 25 minutes. Turn out, remove the paper. Set aside to cool on a wire rack.
